She connects other industry professionals with clients that may have specific questions about documents, home inspections, lenders and the construction process.
Having been a Buyer for vacant land and a Seller of a custom home, Lisa understands the countless emotions a client can incur at one time. She draws upon those same experiences to help clients stay grounded throughout the due diligence period.
She uses the most up to date information available to guide her clients through the real estate transaction process for the most favorable outcome. During negotiations, Lisa remains calm and looks outside the box for resolutions to objections that come up in the course of a transaction. She looks to guide her clients through the transaction by presenting the necessary documents and resources such as connecting with other industry professionals to help a client make the best possible decision for themselves.
She is a forever student of life and real estate and looks to learn something new every day whether it is a new detail about a challenging negotiation to hearing about a ski line she has not skied yet in the Phoenix Bowl. She loves to take the continuing education classes that are required for the renewal of her license and has earned several real estate designations. GRI-Graduate Realtor Institute, RSPS-Resort & Second Home Property Specialist, CNE-Certified Negotiation Expert, SRES-Senior Real Estate Specialist, SFR-Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource and recently earned her PIC-Planning Institute of Colorado Certificate.
She currently serves on the Mt. Crested Butte Planning Commission and enjoys learning about the upcoming projects and planned unit developments. Lisa has lived in Mt. Crested Butte since 1988.
Lisa previously served on the Gunnison/Crested Butte Association of Realtors (2018-2019) and prior to serving on the Board, she served on the MLS (Multiple Listing Service) committee from 2009-2015.

Location, condition and perceived value equal price to a Buyer. Lisa analyzes all features and benefits of a property compared to other similar properties for sale to make a suggested list price. A rule of thumb is that once you list your property, if you have 10 showings in 2 weeks with no offers, the property is overpriced; if you have 14 showings and no offers you are overpriced. Lisa is a straight shooter when it comes to pricing strategies because she is being hired to sell the property for the highest and best price for the current market.
Lisa listens intently to learn what type of property will fit her Buyers needs as to not waste time on properties that are not a fit financially and she strongly suggests finding out how much you can qualify for a mortgage prior to looking at any properties.
She instructs her Buyers how to prepare to make a purchase offer with regard to price, contract terms and contingencies and explains the possible outcomes during negotiations. Then, during the Due Diligence period, Lisa is present to answer any questions that come up and to guide Buyers through the dates and deadlines of a contract. There are many dates and deadlines that are imperative for both Buyers and Sellers and they must stay on track to complete the transaction on time.
Lisa fell in love with skiing when she was 12 years old. One Christmas she inherited her cousins’ skis and boots and upon putting on the gear and going down a hill in her yard, she was hooked on skiing. She competed in Downhill Ski Racing in college and realized early on that she had to live in the mountains so she could ski every day possible.
While attending the University of Duluth-Minnesota, the Crested Butte Mountain Resort was on a tour recruiting college students from the Mid-West to come and work at the resort for a winter. She interviewed and got the job as a Lift Operator. She graduated in 1982 with a BA in Communications, worked a year in Minneapolis in the graphic communications industry and in the Fall of 1983 packed up her truck and moved to Crested Butte sight unseen. She will tell you it was the best thing she has ever done as skiing and the mountains continue to be a focal point in her life.
Prior to earning her real estate license in 2004, she was a Manufacturer’s Sales Representative in the souvenir and gift industry for 17 years before deciding to move into a full time career selling real estate. Her life as a road warrior took her to other summer and winter destination resorts and National Parks throughout the states of Colorado, Wyoming, Montana and Utah. Through her sales experience she honed the skills of good listener, attention to detail, problem solver and has learned to adapt to many situations. With a strong background in customer service, it seemed real estate was a logical choice.
In her spare time, Lisa enjoys spending time outdoors downhill, telemark, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winters and hiking and golfing in the summers.
